Lightwork.gallery is a collaborative design project exploring motion through one of its most foundational ideas: on and off. How much can we express through a single element appearing and disappearing?
Each sequence is a one-second study in behavior, animated by hand using only opacity. With position, scale, rotation, and color held constant, time becomes the material. A flash, a flicker, or an irregular fade can change the feeling entirely.
Created by Chris Kelly, a founder and Creative Director at Oddfellows, and a motion designer in a previous life. Lightwork invites artists to contribute their own sequences to a growing collection—an open resource to explore, download, and build upon.
